Introduction
Effective communication in healthcare is crucial for accurate diagnosis, treatment, and patient satisfaction. However, patients with hearing impairments face barriers that lead to misunderstandings, isolation, and poorer care. These challenges prevent practitioners from fully understanding patient needs and hinder patients from comprehending essential health information, worsening health disparities. Innovative strategies, like integrating AI and sign language, can bridge these gaps. AI-driven tools, such as real-time speech-to-sign and sign-to-text systems, enable accessible communication and personalized support. This workshop will equip practitioners with AI and sign language skills, enhancing patient-centered care and fostering trust and inclusivity in healthcare settings.
